"MADONNA"
She is so quiet our two year old grandson can ride on her back. My husband Ronald next to "MADONNA" is 6'2" tall.

The History Of Pine Avon
We started our Poll Hereford Stud in 1989. Prior to that we had a property where we were involved in cows and calves for the vealer market.

In August, 1990 we bought a seven month old hiefer whilst we were in Canada, named "BHFC HN MADONNA III ET 66Z" also known as "MADONNA". We imported her into Australia and she arrived here in February, 1991.

At her first show at Brisbane Royal-1991, she was first in her class. She went onto win many ribbons including Champion Junior Hiefer quite a few times before retiring to stud.

We kept her first bull calf as a stud sire. He is "PINE AVON DUNCAN". We have some of her daughters and grand-daughters in our herd. Our hiefers must be able to produce plenty of milk on their first calf. As our main aim is to breed for milk, soft dark coats, good feet and dark eye pigment. We are only a small stud with about 34 stud cows. We also use AI for different stud sires.

We sell bulls at the Dubbo National and Glen Innes Bull Sales. Bulls are always for sale on our property and visitors are always welcome whether just to look or buy.

We are very happy with our other stud sire "KADAR VANGUARD's" who we bought on his mother as a calf at six weeks old at Kader Dispersal Sale. "KADAR VANGUARD's" first calves will be sold at Dubbo National June 2001 Sale and Glenn Innes in August 2001. They are all hiefers first calves. At ten months they were weaned from 387 kg's - 416 kg's.

We have two "KADAR VANGUARD" bull calves born this year, 2000, that have just turned ten months who weighed 454 kg's and 505 kg's.

We have only shown at Dubbo Show in the last few years and we have done very well and at the Junior Heifer Show at Dubbo were we have done very well also.

Our Stud will be open for Beef Week on Monday the 19 March, 2001 and Saturday the 24 March, 2001, so come along and see our show teams for 2001.
